Lead – Industrial Hygienist/Sampler
PBS Engineering + Environmental (PBS) is well-established , multidisciplinary consulting firm with strong client service and project management capabilities. We have been providing Industrial Hygiene services in the Pacifi Northwest for over 28 years. Our Tri-Cities office is one of eight offices servicing the Northwest. This position offers excellent opportunity for growth within PBS and our Tri-Cities office.
Job Description:
Perform workplace hazard assessment and exposure monitoring and a wide variety of multi employer work settings including but not limited to: Industrial, Construction, sampling & extraction well installations, demolition, superfund and nuclear waste sites on multi-employer, Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing with field and management personnel.
Qualifications:
- Must have Construction health and Safety Technician (CHST) Certification or occupational health and Safety Technologist (OHST) Certification by the Council of Certification of Health, Environmental and Safety Technologists, or be a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) from the American Board of Certified Safety Professionals, or a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) from the American Board of Industrial Hygienists
- At least 5 years progressive experience in industrial hygiene monitoring related to hazardous wast sites characterization/remediation
- Experience must include a thorough understanding and working knowledge of direct reading instruments, personnel exposure monitoring/smapling procedures and record keeping
- Must be able to lift loads of up to 40 lbs, work in hazardous and radiological work environments and must be able to work outdoors in applicable PPE during all seasons of operations
- Must have or attain the following types of training: Radiological Worker II, 40-hour HAZWOPER, respiratory training and possibly other traing/qualifications ofr work in hazardous environments
- Must have a valid driver’s license
