OSU Energy Center AST Design

PBS provided engineering review of aboveground diesel storage tanks that were being relocated from the OSU existing heating plant to the new Oregon State University (OSU) Energy Center. Staff performed an assessment of each aboveground storage tank in accordance with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code. Tanks that complied with applicable parts of NFPA 30 were provided a certification of compliance by PBS’ Environmental Engineer. The design of the tank’s ancillary equipment (which included the level monitoring, overfill protection, venting, and secondary containment) was reviewed to determine adequacy for the type of material being stored. Any apparent deficiencies in the tank system were discussed with the client, and recommendations for corrective actions were provided prior to issuing the final certification report.
