PCC Cascade Campus Buildings

PBS completed a geotechnical engineering investigation and evaluation for a proposed new academic building and student center, a LEED-registered project. These facilities qualified as “Special Occupancy Structures”, in accordance with the 2010 Oregon Structural Specialty Code (OSSC). The purpose of our services was to develop geotechnical design and construction recommendations in support of the planned new facilities.

PBS completed a geotechnical evaluation which included subsurface exploration, infiltration testing, soils testing, and geotechnical engineering analysis for the project. A Geotechnical Engineering Report was prepared which summarized the results of our explorations and analyses, including recommendations for surface and subsurface drainage; earthwork and grading, cut, and fill; temporary and permanent slope inclinations; structural fill materials and preparation; wet weather/condition considerations; groundwater and infiltration considerations; shallow foundations; retaining wall design, seismic design criteria in accordance with the current OSSC; shoring design recommendations, and pavement design.
