Camas Meadows Office Complex

Location: Washington

PBS was retained by the developer, Robertson & Olson Construction, to provide geotechnical assessment, civil engineering design, permitting, and construction support for the development of a 9-acre office/business park in Camas, Washington, adjacent to the private Camas Meadows Golf Course. A total of four multi-story office buildings were planned for the site, to be constructed in four different phases.

Poor site soil conditions (clays) resulted in the need for over-excavation of unsuitable soils and the replacement with cement-treated fill material. Our geotechnical engineers provided ongoing support throughout the design and construction period to ensure that each office building was placed on a stable foundation.

PBS civil engineers provided site layout/planning support to the client and project architect. Subsequently, the site grading, erosion control, stormwater management, and wet utilities for each phase of the project were designed to meet requirements of the City of Camas and the State of Washington Department of Ecology (stormwater). Particular attention was given to the construction staging and phasing of the project to ensure that each building had adequate temporary vehicle and truck access until the next phase of construction had started.
